Office Professional Academic won't load. Running Win 8. Computer and Office has been running perfectly but Windows would not start the other day, followed screen prompts and started from an earlier restore point.

Everything Ok except Office programs 'MS Office cannot verify the license for this product you should repair office program from control panel. Tried putting in product key again is that the license? From control panel tried repair, did not work with message 'MS Office professional configuration did not complete successfully'. Would not uninstall either. Put in original MS disk but would not repair or uninstall from disk.

Did not work, 'MS Office professional uninstall did not complete successfully'. Tried Revo Uninstall which appeared to detect and remove everything. Tried to install but no luck 'MS Office professional encountered an error during setup'. Ran Fixit which appeared to detect and remove the installed bits. Tried again to install but got same error message.

That became necessary when I tried installing Service Pack 2 and 1 and neither worked, telling me that it could not find a valid install, and looking up that error showed me I had the wrong version installed to begin with. For some reason, it just does not want to cooperate.

I tried deleting registry keys left over from my install, per this advice , but that did not help. I've been through pretty much every option since. I next tried using the FixIt uninstaller. One of them did not even work, saying it was not a valid executable. The other started to run, but then says The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed Finally, I tried following the manual installation procedure according to Microsoft.

I cannot even manually get rid of it! I have done a separate search on this issue and my Windows Installer appears to be fine. Not sure why the error occurs. My registry ImagePath is set correctly and the file is in the proper folder. Furthermore, I've been able to install a number of other programs with no issues.

Office in particular, Office is the only problematic one. Prior to having I don't understand why I suddenly can't get rid of Is there anything I can do short of nuking the computer? I would continue using If only I were able to do that, I would forget about this. Sign up to join this community. The best answers are voted up and rise to the top.
